VHF Radio Info
In summary you will need the following for this year’s inspection:
- VHF DSC Operators certificate issued by a SAMSA. If you currently hold a Restricted VHF operators certificate you will have to re-do the radio course.
- If you own a Ski boat the radio will have to be a fixture on the boat. Jet Ski’s that are Category D must have a fixed Radio fitted on the Jet Ski. A Jet Ski or Ski Boat which is Category E can have a hand-held device. Please Note any vessel launching from DSBC MUST have a Radio on board otherwise will not be allowed to launch
- The radio must have DSC capability (Red Button) Please speak to your dealer as to the best option and price.
