Dear DUC and DSBC Members

We were notified late yesterday (Friday 23rd) that due to a sewerage spill from a malfunctioning pump station, the central beaches have now also been closed to bathing and any other sporting activity.

This decision was taken by the municipality due to the high levels of e-coli found in test samples taken from the central beaches. This means that all beaches from the Bluff beaches northwards to Salt Rock are now closed to the public for bathing.
Beaches that are currently still open with lifeguard services are the southern beaches of:
Pipeline Beach
Amanzimtoti Beach
Warner Beach
Winkelspruit Beach
Reunion Beach
Umgagbaba Beach
We were looking forward to hosting many of our members this weekend as well as conducting a variety of water sport activities. The club very much regrets the impact this this situation will have on it’s members enjoyment of the club over the long weekend.
Although we have live music with Igal planned for Sunday, we will try at this late stage to secure additional artists and DJ’s to entertain the members on Heritage Day and Saturday as “compensation”!

We look forward to seeing you at the club

The PWC Team
